Understanding the Burundian crisis from various perspectives

PSRP member, Astrid Jamar, has organised a Seminar on the Burundian Crisis with the Sussex Africa Center. As a panel discussion, it will gather a number of interdisciplinary scholars based in the UK and in Burundi to address the political, social and economic implications of the crisis.

– Fighting for democracy: politics and risks behind social mobilisation’ – Astrid Jamar (University of Edinburgh)

– Experiencing the crisis: ‘Ordinary people’, public services, and the economy- Jean-Benoît Falisse (University of Oxford)

– Looking forward: what ways out? – René-Claude Niyonkuru

 

The Seminar will conclude with a drink at the Dhaba to launch Astrid’s photography display of her fieldwork in the Great Lake Region.
