Expert Roundtable: Supporting Women’s Participation in Peace Processes
October 28, 2015 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
PSRP consortium member Conciliation Resources, in collaboration with the Permanent Mission of The Netherlands to the UN, is hosting an expert roundtable on Supporting Women’s Participation in Peace Processes. It is one of the many events marking the High-Level Review of UNSC resolution 1325, and the impact of the Women Peace and Security agenda fifteen years after the resolution was passed.
The round table will ‘bring together experts to reflect on current practices of international support to women’s participation in peace processes’, and Eleanor O’Gorman, Conciliation Resources’ Director of Policy and Practice, will facilitate the open remarks. The panel discussion will be moderated by Sanne Tielemans, Senior Adviser at Conciliation Resources.
Anne-Marie Goetz, Clinical Professor at the Center for Global Affairs, New York University Center for Global Affairs, New York University
Rosa Emilia Salamanca, Director of CIASE, Colombia
Froilyn Mendoza, Founding Member of TLWOI and Member of the Bangsamoro Transition Commission, Philippines
Henk-Jan Brinkman, Chief Policy, Planning and Application Branch, UN Peacebuilding Support Office
PSRP Director Christine Bell will also be attending the event. The meeting will be used, among other things, to present the research on peace agreements undertaken by the PSRP. This is one of several events on UNSCR 1325 in which PSRP members are participating, with Monica McWilliams of Transitional Justice Institute at the UN Panel Discussion on Gender and Inclusive Mediation Processes on October 14th.
